Pregnancy is a beautiful journey, but it can bring changes to your body, including your skin. From dryness and itchiness to stretch marks and sensitivity, your skin needs extra care during these months.

Why Hydration is Key During Pregnancy

Your body is working hard to support your growing baby, and hormonal changes can affect your skin’s moisture levels. Many pregnant women experience dryness, itchiness, or even conditions like eczema due to dehydration. Keeping your skin well-hydrated can help prevent these issues and improve elasticity, reducing the likelihood of stretch marks.

Top Tips for Hydrated and Healthy Skin

1. Drink Plenty of Water

This! Hydration starts from within. Aim to drink at least 8 glasses of water daily to help keep your skin supple and healthy. Herbal teas and water-rich fruits like watermelon and cucumber can also contribute to your hydration levels. We know pregnant women already visit the toilet lots, especially when baby is bouncing on your bladder! But, hydrating from within is really beneficial.

2. Use a Hydrating Belly Sheet Mask

A belly sheet mask, (like ours!) is specifically designed to nourish and soothe your growing bump. Packed with 70ml of serum, it deeply moisturises your skin, keeping it soft and comfortable as your belly expands.

3. Moisturise Daily

Applying a rich, fragrance-free moisturiser or natural oils such as coconut or almond oil can help lock in moisture. Pay special attention to areas prone to dryness and stretch marks, like your belly, thighs, and breasts.

4. Choose Gentle, Pregnancy-Safe Skincare

Your skin may become more sensitive during pregnancy, so opt for gentle, fragrance-free products that are free from harsh chemicals. Look for ingredients like aloe vera, shea butter, and hyaluronic acid to soothe and hydrate.

5. Take Lukewarm Showers

Hot water can strip your skin of its natural oils, leading to dryness. Instead, opt for lukewarm showers and use a gentle, hydrating body wash to maintain moisture balance.

6. Wear Loose, Breathable Fabrics

Tight clothing can irritate dry or sensitive skin. Choose breathable, natural fabrics like cotton to keep your skin comfortable and irritation-free.
